NOVA StarDome (family friendly)
No need of a 4x4 but not suitable for low slung sports cars.
Perched on a beautiful solitary koppie with no other buildings in sight, our dazzling new two-bedroom 1-bathroom Nova StarDome has the best location at Starry Starry Night - no contest. Spectacular views stretch into every direction you look in true 360-degree fashion, with huge windows and swing doors framing the surrounding natural landscape, mountains and fynbos.
The striking geodesic StarDome bedroom makes quite a statement, and makes for a wonderfully unique sleeping experience. With a large bay window and overhead skylight, it is flooded with natural light and boast the same unforgettable views as the rest of the cottage during the day. At night, enjoy being tucked into crisp linen on your antique brass bed while gazing up at the skylight to watch the Milky Way.

Please note: Due to the secluded location of the Nova StarDome, there are numerous steps up to the communal pool, KolKol, and herb garden and some steep walkways that need to be navigated. Guests can also drive along the main access road to the top (5 - 10mins drive) should they not wish to walk up the hillside path. To get the maximum enjoyment out of Nova, guests need to be reasonably fit, active and agile. Alternatively they need to be comfortable driving to the upper common areas, or simply relaxing at the StarDome and enjoying the views.
Hot tub / kolkol: Overlooking the striking Little Karoo valley with views that stretch waaaaay into the distance, a soak in our wood-fired KolKol hot tub is a hugely popular experience. Please reserve beforehand at R225 per booking (which includes wood and cleaning before/after). Subject to availability. You will have exclusive use of the pool / boma area for the whole evening of your booking. Because of the high risk of fire (and to ensure you have the best experience), only trained Starry Starry Night staff are allowed to prepare the KolKol. Please don't forget your swimsuit. 🙂
Which cottage is the perfect fit for you?
* For solo traveller, we recommend Luna Mountain Cottage or Gaia StarDome.
* For complete isolation and being blissfully surrounded by fynbos with not another soul in sight we recommend Nova StarDome or Owners Cottage.
* For family with children: our 2-bedroom, 1 bathroom Nova StarDome is ideal.
* For 2 couples travelling together, we recommend to book both Luna Mountain Cottage and Gaia StarDome so each couple has its own bedroom and bathrooms while having an inter-leading door to create beautiful memories together.
